It’s hard to believe, but Mother’s Day is just around the corner. We are continuing to bug out in Pre-K/PPCD and explore the world of bugs. (If you have yet to read last week’s post on bugs, click here to check it out.) In the midst of a week with wild Texas weather and a classroom full of kids with ants in their pants, we are busy little bees preparing some precious Mother’s Day gifts.
Mother’s Day Gifts
The first thing we are doing for the moms and special women in the lives of our students is a sweet picture of their special babies. This idea came from the following pin found on Pinterest:
We created our own version of this adorable photo with our students. I found a colorful plastic planter at Walmart for less than $10. I also typed up a sign for the children to hold that read “thank you for helping me grow!” and put it in a cheap frame from the dollar store. The results are absolutely adorable!
After taking pictures of each student I simply uploaded the pictures onto my Walgreens app on my phone and they were printed and ready to go by the time school was out.
To finish off the gift I bought a pad of scrapbook paper (4.5″ x 6.5″) from Hobby Lobby with several colorful, spring prints to mat the pictures on. Each student searched through the pad and chose the paper their mom would love. On the back they signed their name and then I simply to used a glue stick to mat the picture onto the paper.
Each photo gift turned out as unique and precious as the child. This is a Mother’s Day gift every mom is sure to cherish!
Our second Mother’s Day gift is an all about my mom paper the students filled out. The children were asked simple questions about their moms and we wrote down their answers. Some of the students’ responses were absolutely priceless. You never know what the kids are going to come up with!

We hope you try some of these cute gifts for Mother’s Day, and let us know what you think. We love to hear feedback from our readers!
