Happy Friday! After a week off for spring break we are happy to be back linking up with Doodle Bugs Teaching to share our latest five for Friday!
Angie and I spent last week relaxing and recharging our batteries. To those of you who have already had your spring breaks, we hope you were able to get some much needed rest. To those who have yet to enjoy your spring breaks, we wish you a relaxing time off.
The items from my Donors Choose project arrived this week! These STEM materials are amazing! The kids were so excited to open the packages when they arrived and check out all the new goodies. They have been begging everyday to get out all the new stuff and will be very excited on Monday when they find some of these new activities in the classroom centers!
We created our own class of Easter egg people this week. The Easter egg class turned out so cute! The best past is these egg people wobble but don’t fall over!
To create these we first let the kids each choose two egg halves. They did not have to pick matching halves. We gave them full creative freedom to choose whatever two colors they wanted.
After they chose their two halves, play dough was added to the bottom of the egg. The play dough is what allows the eggs to wobble without falling over. Once the play dough is in we put tacky glue around the perimeter and glued the two halves together.
The kids then got to choose what type of eyes their person had. We had sticker eyes and wiggly eyes on hand so they had their choice of either of those.
Lastly, the kids used sharpies (with teacher supervision of course) to add a face and hair to their Easter egg person.
The final product is absolutely adorable! We recommend this project to anyone looking for a fun Easter activity in the future!
Thursday was an eventful day in our room as it was the day of our annual class egg hunt! The egg hunt is always a crazy fun day for both the kids and the teachers. The weather made for a strange egg hunt this year. Despite the sunshine, the weather was very cool and extremely windy. We had to chase down a few egg cartons before the kids filled them up. Overall the kids had a great day though!
We have some exciting news to share…
We will be at Frog Street Splash again this year!
If you have never been before, you are missing out! Splash is always one of our favorite weeks of the entire summer. It is a great time for learning new ideas, activities, and strategies, all while making new friends and having a blast! We look forward to seeing some of you there in July!
Today is Good Friday which begins Easter weekend. We are lucky enough to have Good Friday off this year. It is special to be able to have the day off to spend with family and really reflect on what Good Friday is and what it means.
We would like to wish each of you a very happy Easter! Enjoy the time with your family and friends! We hope you come back next week for even more fun.
