Hello again and Happy Friday! It has been a crazy few weeks since we’ve last posted. Lots and lots of back to school fun has been going on in our classroom and we’re excited to be back and linking up with Doodle Bugs Teaching to share our Five For Friday with you!
September began this week and I can’t help but wonder what happened to August, and the rest of 2016 for that matter. It seems like this year just began and suddenly we are entering September already. It is crazy how fast time passes. September is already filling up with lots of activities to keep us busy which I’m sure means this month will fly by as well.
We made it through our first AND second weeks of school! Anybody else already experiencing this in their classroom? The newness of school seems to have pretty much worn off already. Our new kiddos have become at home in the classroom and are starting to get the schedule down already. We can’t wait to see what this new year holds for us and our sweet students!
This week our students began working on learning their names and one of the activities they did was stamping their name. We busted out the ever popular dot stampers and the kids got to choose their favorite color stamper and use it to stamp their name. This is a very simple activity to help students identify and spell their name, and is a great opportunity for some fine motor practice as well. If you are looking for a quick and easy idea to help your students with their names we suggest trying this one out.
Our classroom alphabet finally got put up this week! We love this alphabet because it is simple, clean, and not too busy. If you need an alphabet display for your classroom you can find this one free in Teaching Special Thinkers’ TpT store. And while you’re there make sure you also stop by our TpT store and take a look at our resources for your classroom.
Nothing says Happy Friday like a three day weekend! We are both very much looking forward to Labor Day and the 3 day weekend ahead of us. Each of us has plans to rest, relax, and spend time with our friends and family. We hope you all get to enjoy the same!
That wraps up our Five For Friday for the week. Have a great three day weekend and we will be back next week to share more fun with you!
