Doodle Bugs Teaching Five For Friday

Happy Friday! It has been one of those weeks in our classroom, so Friday could not get here soon enough. Another Friday means it is time again to link up with Doodle Bugs Teaching to share our five for Friday! Here is a look at what we’ve been up to this week.

Halloween Spider Web Sensory Bin

Halloween Pumpkin Patch Sensory Bin

We love creating themed sensory bins, and these new bins have not disappointed. These sensory bins are different enough that they each provide the students with different sensory input. It is interesting to see which kids gravitate towards which sensory table.

For more info on these sensory bins and how we created them, check our our post from earlier this week entitled Halloween Fun.

The kids have been enjoying some great Halloween songs from our friends at Super Simple Learning this week. These songs are a big hit with our kids every year. They are simple and fun. Even the teachers love to join in and sing along!

Super Simple Songs Halloween

You can find lots of great songs and resources for your classroom on Super Simple Learning’s website. Their songs are also available to watch on YouTube. We highly recommend you check out their great songs and use them in your classroom or with your own children!

Number 3Inside Recess Teacher Meme

The weather has changed drastically in north Texas over the past week and the kids’ behavior is definitely showing it. A big storm system moved into our area and the entire class was totally wound up days before it arrived. With rain comes indoor recess, which excites no teacher. We are thankful for the rain but can’t wait to see the sun and the playground again next week!

Number 4Sesame Street Julia

Sesame Street debuted a brand new character this week. Her name is Julia and she is a child with autism. We are beyond excited about this new addition to such a beloved children’s show!

This is a great opportunity to spread awareness of autism and increase understanding of what it is like to have autism. We are so thankful to Sesame Street for recognizing and celebrating all children! You can find out more about Julia here.

Number 5Five For Friday Halloween Pack Collage

Halloween is rapidly approaching! We have lots of Halloween learning resources available in our Teachers Pay Teachers store. Check out our products and download some for your own kiddos! If you do use any of these in your class, let us know. We love to hear how teachers utilize our products in their classrooms!

We hope you have enjoyed reading this week’s five for Friday. It’s hard to believe another week has come and gone. Time is flying by! Come back next week for some more Halloween activities from our classroom and another five for Friday!

The weather system hit central Texas yesterday and the kids were definitely showing it! I love your sensory bins. I wish we were allowed to still have sensory play and centers in 1st grade. They so need it.
