Hello again! It’s Friday which can only mean it’s time again to link up with Doodle Bugs Teaching and share this week’s five for Friday.
Angie and I had the privilege of presenting at the Kindergarten Teachers of Texas conference this past weekend. We had a great time sharing ideas from our classroom with our fellow educators. If you were there we hope you enjoyed hearing us!
Our school district was out on Monday in observance of Columbus Day. The long weekend was a nice treat. We both enjoyed the opportunity to rest and get some things done around our homes.
During the long weekend I made lots and lots of cloud dough for our sensory table. The kids absolutely loved it! In fact, one of my friends was helping me make it and she even wanted some for herself. It requires only two ingredients and is super easy to make. To find the recipe, check out our post from earlier this week entitled Community Helpers.
Our kids created what we call sparkle names this week in the art center. The kids each get a sheet of foil star stickers and use those to spell their names. When all of the students finish we hang these up in the classroom for the rest of the year.
For more information on this activity and other ways for your kids to practice spelling their name, check out our post on name activities.
On our trip to Houston we stopped at Buc-ee’s. If you are ever driving through Texas and see a Buc-ee’s, you must stop! Buc-ee’s is a truck stop and it is HUGE. They have the cleanest bathrooms and everything you can imagine in the store. We stopped to go to the bathroom only and left with all kinds of goodies! Definitely worth the stop on any road trip.
That concludes this week’s five for Friday. We will be back next week to share more Pre-K/PPCD fun!
